Covid 19 Charter

We are delighted you have chosen to visit The Creggans Inn. The unprecedented arrival and subsequent impacts of Coronavirus has led us to change how we do some things to help stop the virus spreading and to look out for the health of our guests, our team and our wider community.

We have been working hard throughout lock-down to develop new policies and measures which adhere to Government guidelines. As a result, we have produced our Covid-19 Charter which details how we are changing things to make your visit to The Creggans Inn safer and also what we need you to do to help us maintain our Covid-free status.
Whilst we are doing everything we can to keep The Creggans Inn Covid-free, please be aware that the contagious nature of covid-19 means that, although we have put in place preventative measures to reduce its spread, the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the virus is still present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to covid-19 and cannot accept any liability relating to this.

BEFORE YOU COME
Read through our Covid Charter which will be sent to you in advance of your arrival and is available to read on our website. You might want to pack a few items to use whilst you are here, such as:

  • Your own face mask(s)/covering – All visitors to The Creggans Inn must enter via our main Hotel door which has a retail area, therefore a face mask or covering is mandatory in this space. Please bring a mask along or you can buy one from Reception.
  • Disposable gloves if you wear them out and about.
  • Hand sanitiser.
  • Please don’t travel to or visit The Creggans Inn if you have:
  • A high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher).
  • A new and continuous cough.
  • Loss of taste or smell.
We need a bit more information about your party before you come to stay. All guests will be asked to complete a Guest Health Questionnaire. This information will be held on file for a period of 4 weeks to facilitate Track and Trace/ Test & Protect enquiries, if required.

Diners & Bar Patrons will be asked to complete contact information online to facilitate Track and Trace/ Test & Protect enquiries, if required.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT IN THE HOTEL, BAR & RESTAURANT
We’re still offering a full Restaurant & Bar service but there are a few changes to this from the Creggans Inn norm. The biggest change is that you cannot stand in the bar, you must be seated. Our waiting team will welcome you and you’ll be shown to a seat if available. For customers who wish to dine for lunch or dinner, we highly recommend booking a table in advance as we are limiting the number of diners in the Restaurant & Bar at any one time.

As part of the Government’s Test & Protect initiative, customers are requested to complete contact details via an online form, the details of which will be stored securely online for 4 weeks. This information will help to facilitate any necessary test & protect enquiries. A QR code will be available to scan on your smart phone which will take you to the online form. This form must be completed for each household present within your party.

Once seated your waitress will take your drinks order and provide you with a sanitised menu. Once your order has been taken, cutlery and condiments will be provided all of which will be sanitised.

Our restaurant team will be wearing appropriate PPE and there will be hand sanitiser stations and wipes available throughout the Restaurant & Bar area.

Food Handling
Our team are formally trained in food safety best practice which has been enhanced to help stop virus spread. We’ve also re-organised our kitchens to help with social distancing behind the scenes. Do let us know of any food allergens as soon as you can.

Card Payments
When its time to pay we will provide you with your bill and ask that you pay by card wherever possible. Our card machine is sanitised with each use and wipes are available.
Cash payments are still accepted if required.

ENTERING & EXITING THE RESTAURANT
When arriving, we ask that you come in via the main Hotel entrance via Reception (NB you will need a face mask or covering as there is a retail area in this area). When leaving we ask that you exit via the Bar door. At all times, please observe social distancing from other patrons and team members.

RESTAURANT & BAR TOILETS
Our toilets will be sanitised regularly throughout the day. Hand sanitiser will be available at the door and anti-bacterial handwash is also available.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT IN THE ROOMS
If you have been to stay with us before, you’ll notice that we have had to make some changes in our rooms and across the Restaurant, Bar & Rooms to help keep you and our team safe.
We have removed all non-essential items from room such as cushions & bed runners etc alongside our guest information guides, please call or visit Reception if you would like information on things to see & do in the area. Teas & Coffees are single use and will be replaced entirely between bookings. We have sanitised the exterior of our bedroom hairdryers but it is not possible to clean the interior workings, we therefore recommend you bring your own hairdryer with you for use. If you need to use our bedroom hairdryer you do so at your own risk.

Your room will have been thoroughly sanitized ahead of your arrival and locked by our housekeeping supervisor to ensure no-one enters between sanitization and your arrival.
Please note that rooms will no longer be serviced each day throughout your stay unless you ask us to do this at a pre-arranged time when you are out and about. Fresh towels and provisions will be left in a sealed bag outside of your room each day. If you choose to have your room serviced please make sure you have opened windows to air the room before our housekeeper enters.

Of course, once you arrive if there is something you need that we haven’t provided, please call Reception and we will leave the item outside your room in a sealed bag and knock on your door before departing.

There are a number of hand sanitizer stations across the Hotel, Bar & Restaurant.

If there are times when we need access to your room during your stay to carry out essential maintenance and social distancing cannot be maintained, we’ll ask you to leave and we’ll give you a call when it’s safe to return.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
We’ll email you before arrival to check we have all of your details correct and pre-filled out for your check-in.
Check-in and Check-out remains at the usual time of 3PM and 11AM. Please note that early check-in is not available due to the increased time required for sanitisation of rooms and public areas.

When you arrive at Reception, please observe social distancing and if another guest is checking in already take a seat until our Receptionist is available.

Our Receptionist will be wearing a visor and hand sanitiser will be available for use.

If you haven’t already done so, we’ll ask if you want to book a table for dinner in our Restaurant. We will also ask you to book a time for breakfast to allow us to space out service in the mornings, adhering to social distancing rules.

You’ll be given a map to your room which will be sanitised and locked ready for your arrival. Our Receptionist will advise on how to access WiFi and use the facilities in your room before departing.

When it is time to check-out, please leave a window open in your room and the door open to air the bedroom ahead of our housekeepers entry. At Reception you will be presented with your room bill and payment is requested by card where possible or we can do this remotely for you if you’d prefer. Our card machines are sanitised between use and wipes are also available at Reception.

BREAKFAST SERVICE
Breakfast will be served as normal in our Restaurant between 8am and 9.30am (on Sunday breakfast is served until 10am). Due to Government guidelines we cannot offer a cold buffet selection and are therefore offering cold options on our breakfast menu alongside our cooked options.

DURING YOUR STAY
Stick to all government guidelines and any procedures we and other local businesses have in place – we can help advise you on the requirements of immediate local businesses.

Wash your hands frequently for a minimum of 20 seconds with warm water and soap.

Make use of the plentiful hand sanitiser stations.

Need to cough or sneeze? Catch it in a tissue and bin it.

Keep your distance from others.

Pay by contactless where you can.

WHILE YOU ARE HERE
We have developed enhanced cleaning to help stop virus spread amongst our guests and our team. From front of house to behind the scenes, enhanced cleaning measures not only mean that we are cleaning more regularly, but that we are zoning in on more high contact areas.

After your room has been sanitised and checked by our Housekeeping Supervisor, it will be sealed to ensure no further access until your arrival.

We have implemented a deep cleaning procedure for all rooms using biocidal cleaning sprays for hard surfaces and for upholstery. These products have the required EN14476 ingredient which has been tested and found to be effective on SARS-Cov-2.

Most cleaning is done with cotton/man made and micro-fibre cloths. After each use the cloths are either appropriately discarded or washed at a high temperature for re-use.
Towels and bed linen have all been washed at 60 degrees and are sealed until required for use.
